About
Milia Simielli is a Birth Doula & Childbirth Educator in Sydney and eastern suburbs, she offers personalized prenatal, birthing, and postnatal support. Her goal is to give you and your family the attention and knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your pregnancy, labour and beyond. One of her most important roles as your doula is to protect your birth space and support your decisions!
Her passion for pregnancy started during her childhood and increased when she studied nursing at the university in Brazil. After she finished her nursing degree (2006) she specialized as a Family and Community Health Nurse (it's a mixture of a midwife, maternal child nurse and community health nurse - they're responsible for family planning, prenatal consultations, breastfeeding support, kids and adult consultations, home visits and school education). She was really passionate about educating the community around childbirth and breastfeeding and to help expecting couples to empower themselves. In 2014 she decided that she wanted to go deeper on childbirth support so she did her DONA International Birth Doula and postnatal doula training and also a childbirth educator training, but because she was working full time was a bit hard to manage to do all together.
When she moved to Australia with her husband in 2015 she was able to dedicate her time as a Doula and childbirth educator, she felt that she finally had found her pathway. She also designs and creates her own version of a birthing doll, a doll that can be pregnant, gives birth and breastfeed, it can be used by families to prepare siblings for the arrival of a new baby in the family and also by birth workers on childbirth education.
She'll be honoured to be part of your pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey.
